Redesigning the landing and navigation experience for Luckyi, a Philippines-focused online casino platform, to make entry into the product clearer, more trustworthy, and mobile-first.
Problem
Luckyi’s existing experience emphasized sheer volume of games and promos, but offered little guidance for new or casual players trying to understand what the platform is, how to start, and where to go next. The interface relied heavily on dense carousels, multiple competing CTAs, and desktop-first patterns, creating friction for mobile users who are a major audience in the Philippines. This combination made registration and first-time navigation feel overwhelming rather than exciting, hurting trust and slowing down the path to play.
Solution
I reframed the entry experience around three pillars: clarity (what Luckyi is), guidance (how to start), and focus (which actions matter most right now). The redesign introduced a simplified navigation structure, a clearer hero narrative, and a strong primary CTA for registration/login, supported by secondary paths into high-value game categories like slots, live casino, and sports betting. Visually, the interface balances the high-energy casino aesthetic with clearer hierarchy, consistent spacing, and cleaner typography to reduce cognitive overload while still feeling “gamey” and rewarding.
Research
I looked at other Philippines-focused and global online casino platforms that highlight mobile access, quick account creation, and large game libraries to see how they balance promotion with clarity. Common patterns included prominent “Register / Login” CTAs, clear grouping of game types (slots, live casino, sports, card games), and trust badges or security messaging near the entry experience. These competitor insights helped define what Luckyi needed to match (trust, mobile readiness) and where it could differentiate (more focused guidance for first‑time players, less cluttered nav).
Competitor
OKBet, BingoPlus & Playtime - These platforms emphasize fast GCash/Maya withdrawals, mobile-first interfaces, and strong brand recognition through local sports sponsorships and regulated status. For Luckyi’s navigation and entry experience to stay competitive, it must clearly communicate game breadth, reliability, and payment convenience at a glance, without inheriting the clutter or dark patterns found in some competitors.
Planning
I mapped the key user flows for a first‑time visitor: understanding what Luckyi is, deciding to register, exploring a game category, and returning via login, then translated these flows into a simplified information architecture for the navbar and hero. From there, I created low‑fidelity wireframes exploring different navigation layouts (desktop vs. mobile, sticky vs. static, single vs. layered menus) and iterated toward a pattern that kept core actions always visible while letting secondary links move into grouped menus. I tested these structures with responsive variants, stress‑tested them against longer link labels and promotional content, and incorporated peer feedback to refine hierarchy, spacing, and interaction states before moving into visual design.
Conclusion
The redesigned Luckyi entry and navigation experience turns a promotion-heavy, overwhelming interface into a clearer, more guided starting point that helps players quickly understand the platform and take confident next steps. By simplifying the navigation, clarifying the hero story, and emphasizing mobile-friendly layout choices, the design reduces friction around registration and game discovery, especially for new or casual players. In a competitive landscape defined by fast payments, strong brands, and regulated operators, this navigation redesign gives Luckyi a more trustworthy and scalable UX foundation, with expected impact on onboarding speed, user confidence, and readiness for future personalization and growth.
